About Us

Join the Phoenix OMRS!

The “Organization and Medals Research Society” is organized and operated by its members, for its members, and joining couldn’t be easier. To join our local Phoenix, Arizona chapter all one has to do is first link to OMRS in England and you will be automatically eligible to participate at no cost in all of our varied military collector-related activities in Arizona! As a matter of interest HRH King Charles III is our patron!
Our Society exists to promote a general interest in the study of orders, medals, and decorations to actively encourage and publish research into all aspects of civil and military medals, with a particular focus on those issued by Great Britain and the Commonwealth countries. Of course, given our area in the Great Southwest, United States militaria is a great focus of interest! Anyone with a keen attraction or interest in the research and collection of orders and medals can apply for membership of the society and new members are warmly welcomed.

Individuals’ interests range from—awards for gallantry in battle, or bravery in saving lives, through forgotten wars and far-flung campaigns—to long and meritorious public service away from the limelight. Research interests stretch from pure numismatics, through military or social histories surrounding the circumstances of awards, to the genealogy of medals recipients.

OMRS Journal

The OMRS Journal is published quarterly and it is included in one’s nominal membership fee. Here is a sample cover and an illustration of topics that are addressed. The Journal is a quarterly publication that is sent to all members. Each issue of the Journal contains over 70 full color pages with articles on all aspects of orders, medals, and decorations, a “member’s wants section,” and Society news and notices. Back issues of the Journal are available to members at a discounted rate.

The Journal of the OMRS has been published since 1947 and it is the repository of the Society’s cumulative knowledge on orders and medals. It is an authoritative source of information on all aspects of the Society’s business—and the OMRS Journal editor is continually seeking articles of varied military interests.
